It was really strange to me that her husband...first husband,would pass by me on North Bay Road on Miami beach and try to .shall we say.hook up...Possibly that is what fuled her anger.....I am a gay man that has for the past 35 years (now being 58) spent a great part of his life working (gratis) helping childern in distress and never did I feel any sexual affection for them. Yes I felt affection for them, as a role model, an uncle, father figure,friend. I have spent countless hours in Jackson Hospital detox with kids that were tossed to the streets by society, family or the judicial system, many who were´gay´.some have died,some have been inprisoned, some have compleated high school............two have compleated law school , one has graduated UM Medical School and is now practicing medicine and spends a good amount of his time working in free clinics. I am currently living in a different country with my GAY partner of 9 years and have been blessed with a son...........a social discard! His mother was a prostitute, father an unknown client...mother died when he was a toddler and he survived on the streets.....alone, only with his clan of other homeless people. he survived! We were lucky that 4 years ago he literaly crashed into us in the street. To make a long story short 4 years later he is our son...our life. He speaks , comprehends, reads and writes in 3 languages, is an honour student, and is respected and admired by all in the community.The first nights ,,,,,Yes Anita,,,he crawled into our bed! He was scared, His life was suddenly different. He had a blanket to cover him rather than some cardboard....yes we held him, we hugged him, we made him feel secure.HE IS OUR SON!, but thanks to people like you ,we cannot take him out of our country on vacation, we have to look over our shoulders in fear that he will be taken away and put in an orphanage and treated like a caged animal....If you have a fear that your children, or by now grand children will be recrited by perverts, then search out perverts!Don't assume that all gays are perverts, the same that you cannot assume that all heterosexuals are perverts.We hug our son, we kiss him good bye when we take him to school, but of course he being 12 he is a little over it in front of his friends. So....Dear Anita,I thank you for making me a stronger person, I promise to never molest your grandsons,but please if you still speak with your ex-husband Bob....tell him I am not interested! In short, most people who know me think I'm not only gay but gay delusional and crazy. Anyway...I believe the Bible wholeheartedly and truly anguish when people in my community are so hateful to and about God, but yet I understand WHY when I see people like her (Anita) placing THEIR face in front of God's so that people see THEM and not God and assuming that their views are His. I spent a miserable season running FROM my creator...the one who knows me better than I know myself, only to wear myself out and once I quit running and was too exhausted to fight anymore, He was able to show HIMSELF to me...not anyone else's definition, but his own. This may not be a popular view on either side of the fence, but I am a Christian Transgender and my goal and drive is to share the TRUE love of Christ with my community, and hopefully somehow mop up some of the damage people like Anita have caused, and to show my Christian community to stop stereotyping all of us based on a few baselines that perceive.
