If his parents don't like the idea that something they did caused him to become gay, shouldn't his response be that there's nothing wrong with being gay? Insisting that they aren't responsible implies that there is something wrong with being gay. His claim that God made him gay is interesting, and I suppose helps show the quasi-religious appeal the born-gay theory has to many gay men.
