It angers me that hardly any gays are open in these times. I am gay myself and I hate to hear of people who descriminate against my kind. I dislike that guy for beating that girl, however lesbian she is, because I am a guy and I am an openly homosexual person. I have an open heart to everyone--and yes I still believe in God and I also still attend church, but when IO hear stuff about homosexuality being a sin against God, I leave the room. I hate gay bashers and I really adore my gay friends and it brsaks my heart to know that so many straight people are so closed minded to the subject of open homodexuality in their area. I do not care what other people think about me and I love my lifestyle, no matter how much of a sin it proposes to others. I believe that I was born this way, and that all things happen for a reason--and to show those in my town that gayas can be equal and make a difference the same as other people. we gays should stand together and just be ourselves.
what can they do throw us in jail and rape us?!
thanks so much for your time.

The police have issued an warrant charging a Jackson man with aggravated assault. The story in the Jackson Sun is here.

This should be considered a hate crime.

Our Tennessee Senator Bob Corker has already responded to me that he will vote against the hate crimes legislation if and when it comes up before the full Senate. I guess he thinks these types of attacks are justified. I wonder if he would feel differently if it were his daughter being attacked.

[...] This story is why I don’t typically correct people who mistake my gender, unless there’s a compelling reason and it is safe. There is a certain discomfort in people which can turn into violence. I don’t know anything about the bar where the woman was, or how gay-friendly Jackson is, so I can’t comment on whether her dancing was a safe choice.
