What a fucktard this man is. Look at the numbers... we're a fraction of the population. Look at the numbers, many of our problems are caused by the population overreaching the resources. Lame and in a bubble of stupid. Aren't christians supposed to be honest?

I think you are simplifying these Doctrines. Christianity has always had a conflicting approach to sex, between chastity as a virtue and the Biblical command to be fruitful and multiply. The traditional approach has been to consider sex a necessity, and to condemn not its practise but its enjoyment. Mike Huckabee is not that far out on the limb.
But it is worth reminding people that modern medicine makes procreative sex less of a necessity. And, yes, that the "extinction of the species if homosexuality became universal" also works for chastity.

I've often seen these types of comments from evangelicals. Underlying it all is the belief that people choose to be homosexual. Therefore, if everyone chose homosexuality we wouldn't have future generations. I'd be curious to find out if he thinks people actually choose to be homosexual.

Another foundation underlying the argument is that if you don't reproduce you are sinning. This, of course, implies Jesus sinned by not reproducing.
