Well said. So when those who are running for president today talk about civil unions, rather than gay marriage, let&#039;s give them the benefit of the doubt. Politics is &quot;the art of the possible&quot; after all.

Gore would have been foolish to make this statement back in 2000, yet look how much progress we would have made, were he president now.

So let&#039;s not be over critical of today&#039;s candidates who may be reluctant to include gay marriage as a goal. Let&#039;s first get on the civil unions bus, before we start complaining about just where we are seated.
