Those who listed their gender in response to the Zogby Report was 451 males and 80 females for a total of 531 respondents. 26% supports gays serving openly for a total of 138 males and females. Of the positive respondents, 44% were female (61) and 24% male (33) or 7% of all males polled for this report. With approximately 85% of the armed forces being male, the 7% supporting gays serving openly provides no no mandate for change.

Repealing the DADT should be predicated on the abuse of this policy by both hetros & gays looking for an early out from their contractual obligation to the military plus to avoid any descrimination lawsuits in the event the US ever does go back to a draft.

I wonder how much time Mrs. Donnelly spent in the military???? NONE! Just what I expected. I don't care how many committees she's been appointed to; unless she's actually served in the military, she doesn't know what she's talking about.

I've done 20+ years on active duty and can tell you the vast majority of people just don't care anymore if someone is gay or not. Only the old geezers waiting to retire and a few evengelicals are against it- the same ones against blacks integrating or against women serving. So enough of the supposed "experts" who've never spent a day on active duty. Go back to your cushy civilian job and take your ignorant opinions with you.
