On the bright side, repeating history shows that when people become aware of bigotry, that bigotry will lessen over time and eventually. The only issue is ‘how long.’

All I can say at this point is it’s clear that gay Democrats, Like Log Cabin Republicans, have a lot of work to do in order to change our party from the inside. I do think however, that a gay person would have to be a fool to think that the best way to punish Democrats for their gay policy/outreach/support shortcomings is to support a political party that: seated Scalia, Thomas and Alito on the Supreme Court; has made gays and their families enemy one through hateful and hurtful rhetoric purely for political purposes; sponsors, supports and finances anti-gay marriage amendments at the state and federal levels; supports continuing DADT; is against gay inclusive hate crimes legislation; is against ENDA; and who pander incessantly to their far-right, anti-gay, Christian fundamentalist base.

It may be the lesser of two evils but, in my opinion, the Democratic Party is a MUCH, MUCH, MUCH lesser evil.

but cheer up. the guv’mint is gonna send us all $600 (that it doesn’t have) to shore up the economy (which it won’t) by giving $50 billion to corporations. and the queers won’t be able to marry, which solves all problems.

For a little perspective, maybe TK could give us a synopsis of the McCain/Huckabee/RNC positions on this question. I wouldn’t settle for riding second class either, but it sure beats being dragged behind the bus on a rope.
