Rep Kern is already an elected official.

Rep. Sally Kern, District 84 Republican, serves as Chair on the Social Services Committee, and serves on the Education Committee, Common Education Committe, and Human Services Committee.

Rep. Kern’s district covers the westside of the Oklahoma City metro area.

The fact that she is not ashamed or her comments as a public figure is frightening. I agree that with our freedom of speech she can say what she wants, but she is a elected official and should be held accountable for such divisive comments when there is nothing tangible to back them up.

All kidding aside, she seems fairly uneducated about our forefathers, evolution, it appears freedom of religion works this way in her mind..

Christianity is number one. It’s okay to NOT be a Christian, so long as you keep it yourself and have no problem following all the rules of Christianity as enshrined in American law.

I fail to see the distinction between declaring Christianity our official religion, and merely putting all the rules of Christianity into law.

You either believe there is a creator or you believe there isn’t. Some people say well I believe there is a creator and he used evolution. There’s a lot of problems there folks. When does sin come in, when does the spirit come in? You know, it’s evolution. You read God’s word and you will see the word creation all through it, old and new testament. And it undermines people’s faith. They have trouble reading or believing the Bible.”

Oh, right. THAT kind of science. The kind that isn’t science in any sense of the word. Good to know.

I’m not sure Kern is so honest when speaking to reporters.

Yeah. Perhaps. I wasn’t that familiar with her until this incident arose.

It is speculation, but given she had little compunction about retracting what started this conflict, I’m not so sure she wouldn’t be as blunt about not retracting this latest inference.

She seems to have little qualm about not separating her personal religious beliefs as a private citizen from her responsibilities as an elected official.

She seems, to me at least, to make no distinctions between the two.
