As a gay member of Broadway Baptist Church, I am deeply saddened by Brett's departure. Part of me certainly understands his decision, but a much larger part of me wishes he would stay. I have come to know Brett as a fine man, one who is willing to take a stand against hatred, intolerance, and bigotry. He also possesses a deep, inner strength which has allowed him to stand against those who wished him harm. I wish him nothing but the absolutely best in his new position in Atlanta.
