OK from what I can see she’s just Anita Bryant all over again, but on a new soap box. Spewing her hatred all over TV . I’ve known many that served our country that were gay. Not one of them ever said they had time to check out the other solders. It was more like I’ll cover your back and you cover mine so we make it out of here alive.

Here is what I want to know… what makes her an expert on the military – as I have never seen a mention of her having any role in the military, in any capacity, a side from her mentally challenged “organization” for promoting policy.

Secondly, why is she such an authority that she is allowed to testify before Congress? She attended (note it doesn’t say graduated) the University of Detroit and Schoolcraft Community College. Are you kidding me? Seriously… I cannot wrap my head around how:
a random moron, with logic that makes my toddler comparable to Einstein, a vocabulary of a 5th grader, and absolutely no first hand knowledge of anything gets a soapbox, on the floor of Congress no less.

This country is full of idiots with really strong opinions, a dangerous combination. I think we all need to stop getting political correct and let people know they are not qualified for making decisions for other people at a early age when their lack of ability to rationalize in a logical manner is evident. Otherwise, this is what you get. People who think they can solve problems by creating disasters.

Elaine Donnelly, a pathetic excuse of for an America and a insult to the human race.

Yes. She was initially rewarded with a transfer to another unit, far away from the combat zone. It was as if the military brass had said, “Exceptional job, soldier — don’t do it again.”

Donnelly seems to support women in the military, but not in actual combat. That’s a policy military higher-ups and the Bush administration agree on, and there’s no indication that it will change in the near future. (One wonders what Donnelly does with all that free time.) This is sex discrimination, to be sure, but does it necessarily constitute full-blown misogyny? It seems to me that a real misogynist would advocate dropping topless women soldiers into the middle of Sadr City with blanks in their M16s.

What would have happened had MAJ Rogers not been present? I hope that someone would have done the same as him. Actually I’m sure that someone would have. But if he hadn’t been there, and another soldier had died instead, we’d be down two soldiers instead of one. Even the cold, hard mathematics don’t support her position.

Finally how much experience does Ms. Donnelly have as military leader? None. She has never served a day in uniform. Sure, she’s got a right to free speech like everyone, but she seems determined to shut us up.

A poor view of women and their roles in society, leads to an unhealthy view of gay men, since stigma and simplistic reasoning pretty much state that gay men are little more than women with penises and not “real” men. Simplistic dogma implies and states that men = good and women = not as good.
If you feel women are inferior, anyone who assumes “the woman’s role” sexually and or socially, is considered to be degrading onself.

Men who see women as equals, deserving of equal pay, equal rights, and equal voice in society tend to have no problem with homosexuality.

Some people are really taking it for granted that women and gay men aren’t brave in combat.
Donnelly is an embarssment to her own gender by not supporting women in combat.
Perhaps she’s projecting, we know that even in a political conflict, she’d rather throw women and gay soldiers under a bus, then have any bravery with regard to equal service for all it’s members who have the skills.
What a B**ch!
