"Kincaid: The board’s argument that Beasley appropriately outed and punished the gay students for the misbehavior by straight students is unlikely to hold up to legal scrutiny.

I wasn’t aware gay and lesbian students in Memphis public schools possessed any legal leverage against official or unofficial harassment."

What do you mean? They can be socially 'put in their place' through violence and/or slurs on the basis of demonstrating ANY 'gay behavior'?

"
DuCasse: It embarasses ME, that she…as a black woman would pull the same underhanded shit a racist would.

I’m guessing you haven’t visited Memphis lately.
"

They still discriminate against blacks there?

"sexually explicit behavior" Hunh?
See, that right there is an egregious misrepresentation of facts and situation.
These boys are straight A students, yet...this woman has found a way to compromise the integrity of their grades. Punished them by disallowing a school trip and outed the boys to their parents, which could result in putting the boys at risk with the relationship of their parents.

I was thinking about Bob Jones University. And this Price being a school in the formerly Jim Crow part of the country, I wonder what this principle would say about how young people of mixed background were treated by the white hierarchy?

Please keep us informed. It's all too common for stories like this to appear in the news at the outset, and then disappear into the void later. And I don't particularly want to stare into the void. We all know what happens when we do that.
