Jim,
With the "anti" crowd anytime you don't agree totally with them, your engaged in "bigotry" with them. I listen to my local right wing Christian radio station and they had a guy talking about active Christian "persecution" in the United States. I'll pauase while some of you pick your jaws up from the floor. Ok. The best examples this dude could come up with were people who had been made to remove bibles from desks at workplaces and people "forced" to go through diversity training. I was underwhelmed.

Rationality and deep thought are not characteristics of the "anti's" of any stripe.

From Jim above:

I’d be interested in knowing what he believes constitutes religious bigotry.

Anything that contradicts him is religious bigotry. After all, Peter IS god in his mind.

I hope for his sake he'll get a change of heart when he does go on from this life and meets the real deal.

I do wonder however, if Peter can find any actual examples of where any of the authors here is a "anti-Christian bigot"? Just a couple of examples. I'd be interested in knowing what he believes constitutes religious bigotry.

And I guess I’m leftist too. Gee, that should come as a surprise to most folks.

Perspective is everything. To Peter, everyone to the right of the Constitution Party would be a "leftist." That includes the entire GOP.

Woo Hoo,

Peter thinks I'm an "anti-Christian bigot". I can hardly wait to tell everyone at church on Sunday.

And I guess I'm leftist too. Gee, that should come as a surprise to most folks.

Although a nutjob, Peter LaBarbera is creating mayhem and is part of a dangerous national movement.

Viewing LaBarbera within the context of a large right-wing movement, is to become aware of a world in which LGBTs would have no place-- the world of a future Christian fascist hate state.

I'm now reading a book that I recommend to persons wanting more information on the Christian "dominionist" movement, a far right crusade to turn the United States into a place where a narrow view of religion trumps Enlightenment ideals. Although small in number, the "dominionists" have a large influence in the fundamentalist Evangelical movement, which has played a major role in antigay and other right-wing achievements. It is important to remember, that a strong rightist movement-- a proto-fascist movement-- can be a battering ram used to roll back gains won over many years of struggle by gays and others.

Peter LaBarbera even gets a mention in the book-- American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America, by Chris Hedges.

you all got Peter really upset. did you see his post today? LOL.

he defended his usage of Ted Pike's info saying that Pike was the first to point it out in a mass mailing. Was Peter on that mailing list?

I'm just asking.
