I've read a number of posts on similar sites that have said that at least he had the "integrity" to act on his beliefs by resigning rather than trying to impose his beliefs, and that he bears no malice toward any group involved. I beg to disagree. If he was actually acting with integrity and for the good of his students he would have simply stated the because of his religious beleifs he could not continue to work within the public education system. Instead, he chose to name the GSA as his reason for resigning, thus marginalizing a group that is in all likelyhood, all ready marginalized.

It will be interesting to see what this "man of integrity's" reaction is when a gay student gets bashed for supposedly causing his resignation.

"I had a doctor visit that ended very badly when the doctor told me that he couldn’t offer me services, because I was gay. I still hope he loses his license, but he didn’t try to sabotage my treatment. It could have been worse for me, and we should be hopeful that it doesn’t get worse for these students."

Where did this happen? and what kind of doctor visit was it?, dentist?

Jim said "I think Principal Walker made the right decision. If there’s someone who doesn’t belong at Irmo High School, it’s him. Not the LGBT students who attend his school."

Well said Jim.

Religions are quite famous for throwing boomerangs that come back and splat, embed themselves squarely in the forehead. This gay marriage issue is taking off entire heads. My question is, why don't they die?

The thing I find fascinating about the people getting all bent out of shape over GSA groups is that the law that allows them was proposed and promoted to get bible clubs into schools. It's deeply ironic that they are getting bit by their own technique.

Yes, good riddance, but let's hope the superintendent or school board doesn't replace him with someone who intends to be obstructionist instead of simply vocally disapproving.

If you live in the area, express your thoughts to the school board.
