Yeah, you would think.

Try asking just about any MAN who has ever called the police when his wife or girlfriend physically assaulted him; it’s not the last thing that they expect.

Lawrence v. Texas didn’t remove the laws from the books, it merely barred the state from enforcing them when it happens in private. Now if the circumstances are similar, the state may try to enforce it, but no judge will ever convict them. Even if some renegade judge does, they could take it to a federal district court and have it strike down their conviction, or appeal to a higher NC court.

Lawrence didn’t provide an immediate cure for all problems, but it did provide the tool with which all can be solved.
