They can make inroads in those places and pro-gay organizations cannot for fear and the reality of anti-gay violence. So homophobic violence actually helps their cause. While the capacity for delusion seems nearly limitless among the anti-gay-for-pay crowd, perhaps they are facing the reality that their days are numbered in the U.S. and western Europe. After building careers around the professional persecution of gay people, where would they find jobs to maintain future income? Imagine their resumes: a series of jobs where they organize, write and speak against homosexuality, all culminating in failure. Where does one go from there? Thus Russia and eastern Europe must look like fertile markets for what they are selling. “Anti-gay activists are truly going global.”
