There’s an account of the attack on the gay parade in the English-language Budapest Times.

Various news organisations have also picked up coverage through Reuters.

It’s gratifying to see that this time the Hungarian police actually tried to defend the parade, even though there was a struggle to get it authorised in the first place. The authorisation of a counter-demonstration on the parade route shows that there’s still a way to
go.

The US-hosted http://kuruc.info website seems to have been taken down about thirty-six hours ago. Currently there is just a page entitled “message to our readers” containing just a link to their online payment system and the word “support”

Doubtless they’ll be popping up again soon somewhere else.

That site is unbelievably ugly.

In the account of the fire-bombing, it states, “unfortunately not one faggot got fried.”

The list of gay bars is headed, “below is a list of faggot bars, should anyone be having a boring time.” In the context, it is most definitely an incitement to violence.

Much of the site’s content is illegal in Hungary – I’m not sure if sexual orientation is covered by the Hungarian vilification laws, but the tirades against Jews and Gypsies on the site couldn’t be published there.
