And maybe baseball players should still get into the Hall of Fame if they used steroids. Dobson is certainly a powerful force, but a hall of fame implies honor, not infamy. On the otherhand, Hitler was Time's Person of the Year precisely for his evil influence. Personally, I prefer history not to remember Dobson more than they have to.

Timothy, I'm afraid I don't understand.

Why should the Radio Hall of Fame, or a museum of broadcasting, honor someone for intentionally lying about listeners, for distorting science, and for promoting immoral, degrading, and socially divisive and destructive content?

The airwaves are owned by the public and merely licensed to broadcasters. I don't see how Dobson's abuse of power, nor his popularity among mobs of selfish egotists, make his content award-worthy.

If that is tha case and the only requirement to be nominated is to be influential or notable then allow me to nominate Heinrich Himmler.

... I didn't think so.

While I don't like Dobson's message, he most definitely has been a powerful force in radio, even if at times I would categorize him as a force for evil.

I would hope that a Hall of Fame would not base its inclusion policies on the ideology of the personality's speech.
