I wonder if in his sermons he's also asking his perishinors, oh, I mean "parishinors" for additional sums of MONEY to help fight this same-sex scourge.

Follow the money!

His taking this position may be purely pragmatic in that the "your pastor is going to go to JAIL if this doesn't pass!" meme may simply be more effective in scaring the flock into voting the "right" way than the "let's harass gay people and strike a blow against civil rights" meme would.

I'd have to say, Regan, that reality will probably not have much impact on ihm. These people are so afraid of everything, beginning with big-L life and little-d Death. and so i'm sure the result of your call will be....

...a big nothing.

you won't be able to reach him, and he won't respond to your message.

I sent a letter-- a nice one-- to a local pasotr who was going on about our sinful and destructive lifestyle. It was polite, respectful, and firm. I invited him to join my soon-to-be-husband and i for dinner, and i would be iwlling to discuss the issues with him, and give a good meal as well. i neverh eard back from him. i sent a second copy of it, again asking for a meeting, and never heard back.

How's about I call him? And tell him exactly what I think. I did it with the pastors at the Church on the Way here in the Valley.

I don't mind taking this black woman's outrage and showing them what I think.

   Stay tuned...

W...T...F...?

Okay, I'm having a good laugh with this. I have a copy of "Letter From a Birmingham Jail." The brave and righteous would WELCOME going to jail for a just cause.

The problem with this Garlow guy is he really doesn't and won't have to.
See what I mean?
He's SO afraid of jail, So afraid that this country or gay people have it out to have that happen.

But is this guy about being brave and taking one for the team? Nah...

    Wussy boy, take 2.
He in no way cheapens the commitment of the Freedom Riders, Equality Riders, the civil rights participants of all backgrounds who DID sit in jail, suffer violent attacks and financial compromise to ASSURE the freedoms of others.

What he does is make Christians like himself, look profoundly unconcerned with equality, equal protections for ALL and the protocols of this country and it's Constitutions. He should wait and see how marriage equality really affects the clergy after the fact.Oh wait...Massachussetts has no incidence of incarceration of clergy for refusing to marry couples there. None in Spain either, or Canada.

How selfish and self serving is this man's conjecture? It's wussy boy, chicken little hysteria mongering.

I hope folks see him for what he is, despite the size of his church and it's congregation.

If wussy boy can't take jail he's not even threatened with...what kind of example is that to set?

  UGH. What cheese...
