They're really up against the wall. I wonder sometimes if Dick and Lynne would love to just say "YES, yes I support gay marriage, yes, I support my daughter being free from discrimination, hate crimes, and persecution, YES, YES, YES!!!!!" but they're afraid it cross the wrong people in the GOP, so they've gotta constantly tap-dance on the line, carefully choosing words. No wonder they got all bent out of shape when Kerry mentioned Mary Cheney! I'm sure in private it's a Cheney-love fest (heather included, too!), but to the public they have to present some bizarre image that is pro-family without being pro-gay even though they have a lesbian daughter. I'd be irritable too if I had to twist my logic like that. I can’t imagine what it must be like to be the Cheney’s. They’re really up against the wall.
