I wish it were true that “the most important is the top slot, so Palin or Biden would be fine in their roles,” but McCain “has only a 38% chance of surviving past 2010″ according to “Dr. Clark Newhall, MD/JD of Salt Lake City, UT, one of over 2,700 doctors from around the country who signed an open letter calling on John McCain to release his medical records.”

Ben does not speak for Log Cabin. Nor have I ever heard a Log Cabin member use the term he ascribes to them.

Log Cabin has issued a response to Palin’s comments. And unlike many partisans in our community, they did not read “my friend made a choice” to be equal to “homosexuality is a choice”. And unlike many in the community, they read the rest of the words other than “choice” and found them to be encouraging and to express opinions that are very different from those that many of our community have imagined to be Palin’s.

Perhaps that explains some of the hate going her direction. When you make up motivations and attitudes and ascribe them to another, it can be quite frustrating when they deny those motivations and attitudes. THen you have to either admit you were hasty or latch onto a word to, well, make more assumptions and accusations.

Of course it sounds tolerant. This is the kind of garbage all politicians have to spew this time of year. I really can’t believe anyone would take this at face value. Her actions speak louder than her seal-trained words. Look at Palin’s record on LGBT issues in Alaska, and then watch this clip again.

In terms of her “liberalness” or “tolerance,” yes I agree with John and David that it sounds definitely much more on “our” side than expected. But she STILL tries use her power to make legal life hell for us.

I would hope that she would sit down her friend who “happens to be gay” and listen to what her friend has to say. I would like the media would ask more questions instead of giving her a pop quiz on naming some Supreme Court Decisions.

I think Palin would do an awful job… doesn’t seem too bright. Though honestly this isn’t the worst of what I’ve heard her say. This actually sounds like she’s half tolerant.

Eh, considering her religious backround this actually ain’t half bad. Quite liberal in some respects from that perspective. Frankly I don’t care what she prays, just how well she can act as Veep. Of course the most important is the top slot, so Palin or Biden would be fine in their roles IMO.
