Isn’t the problem the idea that it is acceptable to use violence to settle disagreements that should not be settled violently?

Killing someone for engaging in homosexual intercourse is hardly different than killing someone for praying to a statue of St. Mary.

Wow. Even today, I still get chills when I see pictures of those evil, angry people bearing their “God Hates Fags” signs at Matthew Shepard’s funeral.

Peter LaBarbera makes the point that *even he* has been protested by Fred Phelps, so that makes him the “rational” one…as if to say, “see, we’re not wingnuts like the Westboro Baptist Church”.

At least that’s what he told me when, as part of the “Gaystapo” who shouted down his press conference in SF (aka “depravity central”), I spoke to him mano-a-mano.

The difference between LaBarbara and the Phelps Bunch is that Phelps is honest in saying he wishes we would all die and burn in hell…LaBarbara simply gives us the option of ex-gay therapy before he writes us off as hellbound.

I wholeheartedly agree with Robert Knight. There’s no difference between him (and his fellow unholy crusaders) and Fred Phelps – only their methods differ. Both are haters.
