In the past few days there have been several reports emerging out of Utah about Mormon properties having their windows shot out with BB-guns.

Now a report has emerged that in Littleon, Colorado, a fire outside a Mormon church is being investigated as a bias-motivated arson that may have stemmed from the church’s position on a gay marriage amendment in California because a church member found a burning copy of The Book of Mormon on a door step.

Now, so far, other than for supposition, there has been no direct linking between LGBT protestors or activists and these events.

I support the protests and acts of civil disobedience.

But this is a plea for Box Turtle Bulletin readers to encourage their friends and advocates if they are aware of people in our movement translating our legitimate anger into such acts, we remind them to be civil acts of disobedience, not hooliganism and not to transform legitimate expessions of anger into actual hatred or hateful bigotted acts.
