Newt shares Bill O'Reily's definition of secular: Those who don't wish for my religion to dictate civil law.

In California, "secular" includes Episcopalians, Methodists, Quakers, Unitarians, UCC, MCC, Reform Jews, and a whole lot of lay Catholics.

Since the largest GLBTQ organization is still a Christian religious one (UFMCC), Newt's "secular extremists" are neither - most GLBTQ people in the U.S. are either Christians, or were at least raised Christian even if they no longer identify as such.

It's a shame that Candace Gingrich has to be related to Newt Gingrich. I had to pleasure of hearing her speak at a No on 4 and 8 at my school. What a wonderful speaker and activist.
It's also a shame that Newt has had such a sordid past such as marrying his ex-geometry teacher, divorcing her after her battle with cancer, and later cheating on his second wife with who would become his third wife but still has a "holier than thou" attitude about everyone else! Wow. What a Christian.

Newt, you're full of shit.

Are "secular extremists" barring Christianists from serving in the military? Are we proposing constitutional amendments to annul their marriages? Or forcing them into same-sex unions?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

The only things we want are liberty and justice, which are hardly "impositions" on anyone else. We want the fourteenth amendment to be observed; we want the Constitution's "full faith and credit" clause to apply to everyone; we want civil equality for our LGBT brothers and sisters. Repealing DADT and DOMA would be good first steps. Passing ENDA would be another. The idea that any of these things is a "dangerous threat" to anyone is as credibility-straining as...well...a lot of Newt's voluminous verbiage.
