Isn’t it pretty well understood that it would be dramatically effective to just protect marriage from persons under the age of 21. As I understand it the Massachusetts culture tends to favor later marriage and thus give them the win.

This is not to say that I favor trying to do such a thing by legal prohibition. I’d say we would get much better results with a comprehensive program of sex and relationship education coupled to a social welfare system that allowed young adults to get out of their parents households without trapping someone else into marrying them and making babies so they can trump all their other social obligations by asserting the privileges that go with being a parent. Problematically, this would blow a lot of ‘traditional cultures’ posturing out of the water.

That’s funny. Mass Resistance’s recent propaganda piece regarding the “Harms of Same-Sex Marriage in Massachusetts” didn’t mention the divorce rate.

I’m sure they just overlooked it.

Here's a good link for stats on divorce, broken down by State: Divorce Rate (most recent) by state SOURCE: Division of Vital Statistics, National Center for Health Statistics, CDC Unfortunately, it seems that California stopped tracking divorce rates in 1990. But, Massachusetts still tracks its divorce rate.

Yeah, go figure that one. Lowest divorce rate in the country and they allow same-sex couples to get married! For the past 5 years!

Weren’t the voters of California warned that what has happened in Massachusetts would happen in California!?

Weren’t the voters of California told that Yes on 8 was to “protect” marriage?

So, looking at Massachusetts and California, who’s doing a better job at really protecting marriage?

Quite ironic don’t you think? Those “godless” liberals and homosexuals in Massachusetts treat marriage with more sanctity than religious fundamentalists. They could learn a lesson from the example of Teh Gheys.
