I’ve seen so many stupid articles on TH I long ago lost count! They seem to average at least 2-3 anti-gay articles every week!

I tire of this back and forth nonsense and most of the regulars on TH will do ANYTHING to attack and demean gays, spread lies and propaganda and just generally show their pure HATRED of homosexuals! I’ve been monitoring and participating on more TH threads than I can shake a stick at and I have to admit sometimes I get SO frustrated I feel like screaming!

Oh, but occasionally there are users on TH with a more open mind and at least into a respectful discussion. I’d like to think that some of us Pro Equality forces have turned a few people around on TH but trust me they are HARD CORE as they get so I’m not holding my breath on that one!

I’ll keep doing it because we are all fighting for a just cause but it is truly nerve racking.

BTW, Regan don’t worry about those bigots – I think you know what I mean. People like that will never change. You have many friends here!

I occasionally read TH and Adams is an especially weak bulb. (To the editors at TH, do you really think he's helping the case for conservatism?) If you were to do a parody of angry straight white male aggrievement you couldn't script anything better than one of his cliché ridden columns

He's been very battered on all sides, if it aint the gays, it's the feminists, if aint the feminists, its ethnic people, if it aint ethnic people, it's librul academe, if aint them it's the anti-gun lobby. Limbaugh, but without the wit. No doubt he regards himself as extremely heterosexual.

This will <b>not</b> be a venue for attacking Wayne.

Those who know Wayne recognize the irony in Jim's posting. Others would do well not to display their ignorance.

What's especially stupid about the "Gay marriage will lead to polygamy" argument is that you don't have to have legalized gay marriage to make an argument for polygamy, assuming you'd want to.
I mean, it's not like polygamists are sitting on their hands, waiting take take their cues from the gay community. In fact, most polygamist sects are homophobic. So whatever is stopping them from saying, "Well, if a man can marry one woman, why not two or three?", it certainly isn't LGBT folk.

I don't think you could possibly read "Anything But Straight" and think he was anything <i>like</i> straight - even if you ignore the subject-matter, the entire book screams "I'm a flaming queen" from cover to cover.

Caling someone "extremely gay" is every bit as rediculous as saying that someone is "a little pregnant."

Hi Yuki!
Please, sister/friend...email me!
And contact Priya Lynn.

Yes, our very own Tim K is all that and brains too!
   :0P

  But seriously folks...

I tried to leave a comment at TH, but I seem to be locked out as of late.
But Adams doesn't seem to understand the problem of dignifying something stupid that shouldn't be asked in the first place.

What's especially stupid is that heterosexuals are not asked such questions.

But why are gay people expected to DEFEND polygamy and all the rest?
Which are issues that are not a matter of attribute, like homosexuality is.
But that returns to the ASSUMPTION that one chooses to be gay, just as one chooses to have more than one spouse.

This is what gives me the urge to tear my hair out. And I'm bald.

They pile on asumptions, which lead to wrongful and inappropriate actions.

But not only does polygamy have a precedent in history that was rejected for reasons that had nothing to do with gay people, but polygamy requires the subjugation of women, and usually additional spouses without consent of the others or primary.

Primacy and consent are the requirements of marriage.
Being already married or already closely related would make a redundancy out of marrying for THAT purpose.

Sometimes you really want to slap whoever keeps asking that question or bringing it up.
If these idiots would pay attention, they'd realized that a gay couple's requirement doesn't change from a hetero ones. And no one gay is demanding that it should.

The standards for hetero or gay couples is unchanging. I think it's THAT inconvenient fact is what the opposition really can't handle.

Even the issue of children, yes.
Children are not a requirement to qualify to marry.
And those parents with children SHOULD marry and those that WANT to, shouldn't be kept from doing so.

I bet if you put the children of gay and straight parents in a big room, the opposition would be VERY hard pressed to tell what child had gay parents.
Would they pass THAT test as easily as they passed the vote against these children?

And THAT, my friends is the real reason for the marriage ban.
My cynical mind tells me this IS the ulterior motive as well.
They just won't say they want the children of gay parents to be treated as differently as their parents.
But they are, they can be. They will be.

But children are children. All children can only be children.
What their parents are, shouldn't be taken out on them. EVER.

THAT is the question that should deservedly be thrown back.
Yeah. What about the children?

Yours, theirs or ALL children?

But the fact remains that the current rules can and do apply to gay couples.
But the opposition moves the goal posts and acts like they don't.

I remember the gay minister of a church near Amsterdam saying a few years ago on television: "I hope I'm a gay minister in the sense that I'm happy - and things like that."
