I'm not sure what the law is in Gainseville, but if it's like most places the person must use the bathroom consistent with their gender presentation. Ie, if you look like a man, you can't use the women's room. Legally, it's a non-issue.

I have never heard of such a problem arising. Unfortunately, there's never been a study to say conclusively. YET! There's one going on as we speak tho. On the other hand, many, many transwomen have been attacked in bathrooms when forced to enter the men's room. So they care more about their comfort level than the ACTUAL safety of others.

The Good Citizens just want to have the right to

claim trans & genderqueer people aren't real, just like they claim that gays don't really exist.

I think we're giving the public too big of trust that they even know what a transsexual is. Scare tactics like this work precisely because people have no clue what they are fighting against.

One of the reasons Trans issues need far more attention, in my personal view. But still, the arguments they put forth are going to make sense to the masses without question, simply because of mass ignorance.

If this ad were to be repackaged with a young transsexual female entering the ladies first then the "creepy man", it can even place a strong case out on why there needs to be a safe place for transsexual females to pee. That fella could be a transphobic murderer at worst. But I believe any sane person whould not buy the ad as it is now, as a sign of people like US entering a ladies washroom and being a threat to young children. Because they made that fella SO OBVIOUSLY a man for all to see. Unless they wish to imply that gay men would enter the ladies, which would actually be quite safe. ;-)
