What? Is he serious? The sad part here is that people really don't choose to be gay, but people DO choose to be republican.

Sexuality is not reserved for the enjoyment of straight men, which seems to be what these archaic beliefs imply. I very much dislike that this nation strokes the ego of the straight male so often, and suppresses all others. Are straight men the only group that should be allowed to have self-esteem? The only group that deserves respect? Are the rest of us all second class citizens?

Maybe we should ask Mr. Blackwell to suppress his so called heterosexuality. Come on Mr. Blackwell, you can conform and be gay! So what if you don't enjoy sex with other men or have any desire to engage in it. You can learn how to like it!! How ridiculous is that? ITS THE SAME THING!!

Thirty years ago mental health doctors declared that gay men and women did not suffer from any mental disease or disorder as the basis of their gayness. Blackwell now asserts the contrary. I suppose he holds other archaic notions such as the earth is flat.

I get more than offended at how straight guys like this pontificate on the nature of homosexuality.
As if it's heterosexuals ALONE who can assume, judge, define and explain it.

Leaving of course, gay people out of the discussion AND equation to actually make a FAIR comparison.

It bears ridiculing that all manner of NEGATIVE and offensive comparisons and analogies are made, except the obvious one.

That homosexuality and heterosexuality have the most similar values and inherency.

I feel, sometimes, like the only one who bothered to go to the best school there is on the subject: experience and from the best teachers. People who are gay.

What's remarkable is it doesn't take any courage and opportunity is EVERWHERE to really know.

It takes some exceptional cowardice to be THAT afraid to learn what I have learned. And AVOID learning it.

God gave us curiosity too. Quite a gift. How can such a gift be SO repressed in this crowd?

I think the Tories in the UK have learned that unabashed gay bashing got them no where; if this is the case, then it will only strengthen what will likely be a landslide for them in the next General Election. The Republicans, not so much. . .

"They say “As goes Ohio, so goes the nation.” Republicans may discover that this saying applies to their party as well."

one can only hope that they will continue to give into their compulsions to gay bash, and that they wil eventually move to the fringes of polite society, where they so truly belong.

If being Gay is a compulsion then so is being Black. I'd like to see him try to "pray the Black away".
