"Police say arranged marriages among underaged girls is a problem..."

The Atlanta Journal Courier, nor the LATimes didn't mention the ethnic background of the father.

But I'm not surprised. I have mentioned here in my experience with law enforcement, the problems with girls being passed around among men when she's barely got her menses.
I hate to say it, but it occurs among the populations we keep busting for illegal immigrant smuggling and the immigrants themselves.

They believe a girl is 'ready' when it does occur. But often they don't care if it doesn't. She's a female, and they think old enough to appreciate them.

The NYTimes reports on the girl brides of Africa and middle Asia.

Poverty and illiteracy are pervasively feminized and it's poverty that makes girls vulnerable to sex slavery.

Call me crazy, but every time I hear someone who objects to gay people at all, their claims by gay people of indoctrination of the young, or obssession with sex rings maddingly hollow...especially when a young girl can't even trust her own FATHER!

Everything about this smacks of "tradition." Unless the Christians are saying "well Jesus said that law doesn't count anymore." whatever.

Think of how much confusion we'd have been saved if the guys who wrote the Bible had just written:

"Don't sell your kids" -God

Lat's not forget that it is between 1 man and 1 woman. Yep, looks like traditional marriage to me.

This must be what the fundamentalists mean when they talk about 'traditional marriage.' After all, as you say, this is an allowed marriage according to the bible.
