The first (of possibly many) other men who Haggard had sex with has spoken out, on Colorado Springs TV http://www.krdo.com/global/story.asp?S=9735640 . This kid wouldn’t have come forward if Jones hadn’t paved the way.

I think our community owes Jones gratitude for silencing a hypocritical homophobe.

Just for the record, to whoever implied Jones made money on his book deal, please check with someone in publishing, they will tell you there’s no profit for a first time author in a book with 5000 press run.

Well, I guess Mike Jones should be glad he is a man, because had he been a woman things could have been even worse.

This seems to have more to do we view sex workers in this country, male and female. And the church isn’t alone in giving the “shade”.

I respect him for being honest and wish him peace for his now publicly painful journey.

I think that we in the gay community do owe Jones many thanks for helping to bring down one of the most odious anti-gay voices in the religious right. Haggard’s voice is silenced (well, most of the time it is) and he has no credibility within the religious right nor within larger society. Haggard can’t push hate against us any more.

Having said that, I do wonder why he is offended by being called a “whore”. True, it is a rude word but he was/is a sex worker, wasn’t he?

So thanks, Mike, for taking down Haggard. But let’s get on with life, shall we?

I think Mike Jones is incredibly courageous! He had the guts to step out of the shadows and expose Ted Haggard for the hypocrite that he is.

Jones is the one getting the short-end of the stick as Haggard basically goes on with his charade…wife and kids in tow.

For those who are condemning Jones, you walk a mile in his shoes and then judge him.

I’m really shocked at everyone here talking about how much this is Mike Jones just trying to “extend his fame”. Seriously. He didn’t come out as a male escort sleeping with a religious leader for the glory. Think about it. Would you want to do that?

Pull your claws out of the guy and look at him for what he is, someone with a story that he needed to share.

I don’t think it’s a matter of 15 minutes of fame so much as MJ has become a fighter for the truth. Just another oddity in the end, kinda like John Wayne Bobbitt. I’d love to hear MJ turn this energy towards something like the Trevor Project or other agency that focuses on helping young at risk gay teens.

So far, all I hear is a victim screaming for justice. But I’ve not quite figured out what the crime was in this case.
