Hopefully, we can make the distinction between "Radical Religious Fundamentalism" and religion in general. While it is true that most African nations espouse a very conservative form of Christianity,(e.g., Peter Akinola, Anglican Bishop of Nigeria), there are many people of faith who are beginning to heed the work of experts in the field of human sexuality. The LGBT effort will never win the biblical literalists, but there is new support coming from Methodists, Presbyterians, and other mainline denominations in the US. Exodus Intl has shown its hand; hopefully, their heinous support of Uganda's inhumane intent will not go unnoticed in the world at large.

" Rampant religious fundamentalism is seen to lie at the root of this problem."

... heh ...

If the UN resolution passes, how are the LGBT ppl going to address this without offending the VERY offensive religious doctrine that demeans and upholds any paranoid, far-fetched and false information about them?

yet, if religion is the root of the problem why would they also include this:
"the seminar which was clearly designed to attack lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) Ugandans under the cloak of religion."

Something thats under the cloak of X is not the same as saying that X is the root of the something.
That something would still exist if you remove X if it was a mere cloak, but that something would be eradicated if X was the root of that something.

So which is it...?

The founders of Exodus fell in love, had left the ministry, and had a same sex commitment ceremony. Exodus doesn't tell their flock that.
