Sorry, Ben, but that won't help you.

California also has domestic partnership recognition with everything but the name. And when voters overturn Prop 8 then same-sex couples will have the name as well.

I'd recommend that you move to Utah.

I am hopeful on this, but not feeling secure yet. The public is coming out in support of this one this time. The opinions on the nv.gov site are running about 4 to 1 in favor of it. And the emails and personal letters are only slightly less in favor.
I think hard copy letters are the best way to go if you can't make an appointment with your Senator or Assemblyman. Don't forget Nevadan's we can make an appointment to make our case with our legislatures. It isn't so scary, or better yet get a group together, we elected them after all.
I think after prop H8 a lot of people rethought their positions.

I am not holding my breath. Giving same sex couples the most basic rights seems to be such a drastic step in Nevada.

the smartest thing the (washington) democrats can do is legalize gay marriage. that way there won't be any propositions that get republicans to the polls hopefully putting the last nail in their coffin!

It will be interesting to see how they approach this one. They are, after all, not opposed to these things for their gay brothers and sisters, are they???

I doubt the bill will pass either Timothy. The Mormons were instrumental in making sure that gay marriage was banned here in Nevada several years ago.
