I think it's wrong, by the way, to say that anti-gay activists pick on these studies because they are the easiest to disprove - one can "disprove" anything whatever to one's own satisfaction if one dislikes it strongly enough. It simply happens that these are the three best known studies, all done by people who have a public profile and have written popular books.

'Instead, they only pick on the three weakest and easiest to disprove studies.'

I assume that what you mean by this is that these studies don't show conclusively that homosexuality has biological causes. This is true - but it's one say that, and something else to say that that the studies themselves have been disproven. The results of the studies may still be valid even if those results don't show that homosexuality is inborn.

Regarding LeVay's work, there's an article here that is partly about how his study is viewed in the light of subsequent scientific research:

Jim, here’s one from the New York Times if you haven’t found it yet:

<I><a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/11/health/11real.html?_r=1&ref=science" rel="nofollow">“The Claim: Identical Twins Have Identical DNA</a>
Published: March 11, 2008

…THE BOTTOM LINE
Identical twins apparently do not have identical DNA.”</I>

We are looking into a long-term project to collect the hundreds of studies and present them on BTB. It's a very daunting task, and its posting is still many months away.

"In America, what was the civil rights movement? People are being discriminated against because they are Black."

Ah . . . No.

I thought the Bailey twin study was pretty darn strong. What's stronger?

"If that thing is something you have no choice about and something inborn, then it is a civil rights issue. .... But issues of choice, if I choose to be a thief, if I choose to be a murderer, I cannot stand up and say, “Oh, you see, I was born this way.” No."
... So if I choose to be a Democratic or an Episcopalian or a human rights activist, that is not a civil rights issue; it is something I have control over and can change....just like choosing to live the 'homosexual lifestyle'.
