There is an ocean of difference between working to be free and accepted with access to equal justice and protection, than trying to remake another human being into yourself by force through intimidation and violence.

Gay people want acceptance, which is rational and fair. After all, homosexuality isn't a cultural invention, like religion and isn't exceptional for that reason.
Nor is it at the expense of other's freedoms or standards of human rights.

However, trying to remake a gay person into a heterosexual, or disappearing them altogether is not only irrational, but impossible if it has to be done on condition of prison, or other threats to their person.

People who are clergy, and in the business of being the moral compasses of their respective societies, truly break with morality when they don't care about that difference.
