Today is the ten year anniversary of the Admiral Duncan bomb - the last of the three Copeland bombs, and one of the most vicious hate crimes committed against the LGBT community in my lifetime. The bomb killed three people, one of whom was four months pregnant at the time and was celebrating her first pregnancy with her husband and two gay friends, one of whom was to have been her child's godfather; of the four only her husband survived. The bomb also injured 79, four of whom had to have limbs amputated.

This seems a very fitting day for the House to pass such a bill.
