Anti-Gay Marriage Champ Goes Topless

Timothy Kincaid

We’ve all suspected it was coming. We got a little taste of Carrie’s “come do me on the beach” look from the pages of B!isss Magazine. And now the first topless pic is on the web.

Yep. Everything about that pic says “Biblical correctness”.

And if rumor is correct, there are more to come; some which might require pixilating.

Timothy,

I ask this question with reluctance, since I consider the issue almost too distasteful to comment upon, but what exactly do you think you’re accomplishing with this repeated ridicule of Carrie Prejean? When are you going to decide you’ve done enough?

I don’t think it’s ridicule. Although I understand your reluctance to talk about this situation, quoIII, it was Ms Prejean who chose to sign up with a “Christian public relations firm,” do interviews with right wing “news” groups as well as speak at places like Liberty University. It was her choice to bask in the adulation of the religious right and be called a “victim of the gay agenda,” and a “modern day Q

Sorry, I pressed the wrong button. I will try again –

I don’t think it’s ridicule. Although I understand your reluctance to talk about this situation, quoIII, it was Ms Prejean who chose to sign up with a “Christian public relations firm,” do interviews with right wing “news” groups as well as speak at places like Liberty University. It was her choice to bask in the adulation of the religious right and be called a “victim of the gay agenda,” and a “modern day Queen Esther.” I do feel sorry for her because she is in for it now.

But at the same time, we should be careful not to get all caught up in it. We don’t want it to make is seem as if we are picking her apart. And you know the conserative echo chamber. Even though Prejean is totally in the wrong here, they can spin it to make her look like Joan of Arc despite her hypocracies.

Timothy Kincaid

quo III,

My purpose is a simple one, to point out the extent of the hypocricy of those who are playing her as a martyr.

I think we all know that had Carrie Prejean not made anti-gay marriage comments that she would not be found to be acceptable by conservative Christianity. They do not look kindly on topless posing or any other kind of lust-inducing efforts.

But they are willing to overlook Carrie’s vanity, nudity, and basic trashiness. Why?

Simply because she said that she opposes gay marriage. She said its her upbringing and Biblical correctness.

And viola. All is forgiven. All is overlooked.

They love to say that all sins are equal but when it comes down to it they will embrace and celebrate heterosexual sluttiness over homosexual committed relationships.

And that’s disgusting.

So if they keep trotting Carrie out as an example of good Christian morals and values, I’m going to keep exposing the truth.

Timothy,

Unlike quo III, I would like to nitpick another point. I am not sure calling this topless is the full truth. While it is true that she is not wearing a top, the see-through lace of the panties would pretty much qualify in my book as bottomless as well.

I think my point would be even more clear if this were a frontal shot (but then again, we would have stepped over into straight up nudity/?porn).

You know, I feel like the National Organization for Mammary Enhancement needs to address this. This is a very important development. I’ll try to get on the phone with their public relations guy. He works out of Utah somewhere.

In the mean time, I agree with Timothy about exposing hypocrisy. If she had said she supports same sex marriage, they would be shoving these photos into queers’ and allies’ faces saying “see what you guys support?? SEEEEE??”

Or they’d simply chalk it up to “liberal left coast values” or whatever BS. But now suddenly this is no big deal or “easily forgiven” or something.

No offense intended, but I am very concerned because those pink lacy panties are made from a mixture of natural and artificial fibers!

I dunno, homer, I think everything on her is 100% artificial.

I’ve contacted NOME, they’ve made note of this development. ;-)

quo III: Can you link me to the site or sites where you’ve requested that Carrie Prejean stop denigrating the LGBT citizens of the United States on an almost daily basis? Or are you more concerned with the idea that it’s distasteful for those of us in the LGBT community to say anything bad at all about this outspoken enemy of our community?

Ummm… that’s totally got to be a Photoshop job. Maybe it’s just me, but it looks like the face doesn’t fit correctly into the head.

But, it did make me laugh. :)

She brought all this attention on herself. She could have turned down all the interviews, etc. by saying her words at the pageant spoke her beliefs, however, she has been on every morning news show, the “700 Club”, working with NOM, and has been praised and paraded around churches (at least in the San Diego area) as almost the second coming of the virgin Mary, a pure Christian girl who was in a beauty pageant. These pictures show almost the hypocracy of it all. To top all that, as far as I know, California pageant officials haven’t been able to get ahold of her since the Miss USA pageant. She put herself in this position, milking it just like any other so-called 15 minute ‘celeb’. It will eventually go away, but her reputation has been tarnished. She is not pure as snow as the theocrats wanted us to believe. Right or wrong, she planted the seed, now she’ll have to take it’s growth.

Bruno, good one. As much as I enjoy laughing at Miss C, I feel that her 15 minutes are over. Sigh. Perez Hilton generously gave her non-career a temporary bump, but now it’s back to obscurity for Miss Fake Boobs.

I can never remember the exact passage, but THIS is the hypocrisy:

“If a man looks on a woman with lust, he has committed adultery with her in his heart.” I guess, if he’s married

and probably fornication if he is not.

so, as always, it becomes a matter of which and whose Christian values we’re going to be talking about. And once again, the homosexuality contained in a half-dozen very unclear, ambiguous, and questionable passages in a translation of an interpretation of a mis-translation of a guess by a non-eyewitness to an improbable event receives top billing as the face– or in Missy Prejeans case, the ass, in all senses of the word– of a particular brand of Christianity.

I’m sure that she is going to follow in the holy footsteps of another woman with the same qualities and prejudices, and like St. Anita, be an object of adoration, and slobbering, for a particular segment of the population.

Anita was second rate beauty queen, with a second rate voice. Anita was 30 years ago, in a vastly different political and cultural landscape. And she still went down, and by all reports, has never risen above being second rate.

Prejean reminds me of Missy Anita, but she also brings to mind the comment of Mr. welch to Sen.. McCarthy:

“You’ve done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?”

If Charles Manson came out as anti gay marriage how long it would take NOM to figure out how to use him as a spokesperson for the their cause!

May 5th, 2009

As far as the picture goes all I can say is “Oh my!”.

Emily got it right. If Prejean had come out in favour of equal marriage the anti-gays would be using this picture and her images as an example of the debauchery that’s bringing about the end of civilization. They’re using her because sex sells and this puts a sexy young face on the bigotry that belongs mostly to old-timers.

One of the greek words from the New Testament, that opponents of human rights for GLBTQ people consistently insist means homosexuality, is ‘pornos’, in its various versions. It means prostitution.

Some versions are gender specific, others include nuances of idolatry, some were used for adultery as well as prostitution.

Pornos is the source word for pornography – exploitative sexual imagery. Pornos is not a source word for ‘homosexual’ or ‘lesbian’. In other words, English speakers have adopted the word for prostitution and applied it to the kinds of images Miss Prejean posed for, a word that some modern translators render as ‘sexual immorality’ in passages like 1 Cor 6.

Though many translators play fast and loose when translated two other words in that particular text – one thing is clear:

1 Cor 6:9-10 is more relevant to the pictures Miss Prejean posed for, than it is to GLBTQ people and homosexuality in general.

I think Tim’s coverage is totally justified. BTB is constantly pointing out hypocrisy among anti-gays and this is just another example. Prejean’s behavior shows she doesn’t care about conservative morality gleaned from the Bible; she cares about the morality of her culture and subculture in which a woman can sexually arouse a man in public but a man cannot do the same in private. Her hypocrisy is no different than John Paulk or Rick Warren.

Exacta-moondo L in PA! I’d rather see Carrie ‘tho. Charlie Manson has a god-awful tatoo artist.

Lighten up folks with all your theological whinning! I think of Carrie’s ascension up into the media’s stratosphere is HEE-larious! The religous right deserves her, and vice versa!—artificial boob-job an’ all! What else would Mr. Kinkaid entertain us with in the sometimes dismal world he treads in?

Thanks Mr. Kinkaid! Love your style!

What Are Little Boys Made Of?

In this original BTB Investigation, we unveil the tragic story of Kirk Murphy, a four-year-old boy who was treated for “cross-gender disturbance” in 1970 by a young grad student by the name of George Rekers. This story is a stark reminder that there are severe and damaging consequences when therapists try to ensure that boys will be boys.

Slouching Towards Kampala: Uganda’s Deadly Embrace of Hate

When we first reported on three American anti-gay activists traveling to Kampala for a three-day conference, we had no idea that it would be the first report of a long string of events leading to a proposal to institute the death penalty for LGBT people. Paul Cameron’s World

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. This puts his fascination with quarantines, mandatory tattoos, and extermination being a “plausible idea” in a whole new and deeply disturbing light.
