Hi Kikomeko,
It is true the status of homosexuality in Uganda is grave. The discrimination is on the high, as you are an outcast if you publicly comeout and say your status. Besides, Homosexuality is illegal in Uganda and it is punishable by imprisonment if your partner reported you to the authorities.
In one incident, I am told there was an Indian residing in Uganda who was murdered shortly after his status as a homosexual was publicly known. It is beleived that is one of the reasons why he was killed.
So in all, it is really out of the law for one to come out publicly to denounce his status as a homesexual.

It is not a comment but just to update on the situstion as per today as many seem to be so frightend to speak out the truth due to fear.

Its getting worse than ever and one has not to say a word, homos have no chance in Uganda and should just backoff because the act is causing different panfull ways of deaths in the society and heatrage is building between tribes relatives and the society.

The victims are being burnt, stigmatised, stoned and all sorts of abuses which is encourraged by both the authorites through the government and the caltural belifs.

Kids among which are the most affected and silently abused by the society because they have no voice to protect or even explain themselves, whether its true or not they are abused.

I'm curious, is Uganda one of those countries that admires the US or hates us? If the former, I wonder what they think about Vermont and Iowa.

Maybe Alan Chamers and Randy Thomas should fly to Entebbe to provide guidance to the government on how far to go on their coercive tactics against gays and lesbians.
