I’m very pleased New Hampshire has passed civil marriage equality for same sex couples. Congratulations!

Now trans people and their wives or husbands can be thrown out of their homes together!

When will trans inclusive nondiscrimination law be passed? Probably never in NH. They will have to wait until the federal government passes it. Unless of course, Barny and his friends decide they have to jettison gender variant people once again to get what they want.

I’m sorry if I sound a little bitter. I guess I should never have read about the political history of GLB(t) rights and how the movement got started.

Just wondering why this is illustrated with a picture of fall leaves reflected in a lake. I’m guessing that the lake is somewhere in New Hampshire (but I’ve seen similar landscapes in Wisconsin, and shorn of the context of the headline, that’s what I’d guess). But still: The news happened in June and the marriages take effect in January, but this photo is clearly from some crisp October day.

Are we suddenly going all Dada with illustrations?

At this point, screw Obama. We’re making considerable progress at the state level without his involvement- consider that we’ve seen marriage equality become a reality in 4 states since the inauguration WITHOUT Obama saying anything. Let’s continue focusing on the state level, then when we have another 5 or 10 on our side we can drop them all on his head at once and say “OK Mr. President, half the country now provides marriage equality. Time to say something”
