Production has already been completed on the pilot, which centers on a woman who is in her late 30s and is eager to get hitched. A group of friends and family are presented with five eligible men, and the group slowly picks off the guys until one is left standing.
As each man is booted out, the bride-to-be gets her first look (“Dating Game” style) at who she won’t be marrying. By the end of the episode, she finally meets the guy she’s going to marry — and the ceremony is held. Each week focuses on another potential coupling.

In 2005, the Southern Poverty Law Center wrote that “[Paul] Cameron’s ‘science’ echoes Nazi Germany.” What the SPLC didn”t know was Cameron doesn’t just “echo” Nazi Germany. He quoted extensively from one of the Final Solution’s architects. Anti-gay activists often charge that gay men and women pose a threat to children. Two loving, consenting adults wanting to commit to one another, but happen to have “too much in common” are being told they can’t marry. While others can marry, by vote of committee, shortly after meeting. ?! WTF!

For whatever reason, Fox reality programming tends to be geared towards bringing out the worst in people. Nanny 911, Wife Swap, etc. Watch- the couples involved will wind up getting divorced within 6 months. So the show really WILL represent “traditional” marriage these days!

When I read something here and in other forums that is given without its context, I am frequently prompted to hunt for the original source. So, plugging “hamster” and “elderberry” into a Google search, I traced down the lines from “The Holy Grail”. I saw this once many years ago and had forgotten this timeless piece of wit from Monty Python. However, the quote – taken out of context – regarding the writing of Paul to the Romans is something I have studied and returned to many times since my days as a seminarian in the early 70’s. I would encourage Alan to review the passage (Rom. 2:18 – 3:20) in its entirety, with an open mind, and see if his perspective is changed by what the intent of the whole argument was in the presentation by Paul.

Why do people like Alan act like you never heard his message, or that it hasn’t been around enough or forceful enough that you haven’t, or aren’t paying enough attention?
Why do people like Alan always say: “don’t shoot the messenger?”, when that’s precisely what they want to do with the messengers bearing the truth of their OWN LIVES as gay people?
Why don’t men like Alan get that regardless of how many times and how many ways he wants to say his message, it’s not that you’re not paying attention or don’t know it, it’s that it’s NOT RELEVANT to certain realities we live as unique and diverse human beings. It’s only relevant to how HE wants to live it and believe it FOR HIMSELF.
And further, why don’t people like Alan understand that he and his fellow believers that they not now, nor never will or should have any control over another human being’s life especially who didn’t ASK them to do it.
And that if they REALLY believed in God and the greatness of God, that there are some mysteries and things beyond what us mortals are to do, and he should just let the legacies of justice and equality speak for themselves and that he shouldn’t try to act like he’s here in lieu of God or at God’s suggestion.
And Alan, we’re not deaf, or blind or forgetful…we know who we are and ourselves better than you know us and we know that God knows us and our hearts better than you do too.
You are revealing how little you actually trust God.
We already KNOW your message. It is, after all, not new. You don’t know as much about gay people as gay people know about hetero folks.
Not smart. It causes more problems than solves them.
But hey, the beauty part is, you’re actually talking to people who’ve ALWAYS tried to REASONABLY get along with you at the most fundamentally important level. Perhaps it’s time you figured out exactly how.

It’s all about what you good (mostly) Christians are doing this week. After you have perused a few weeks of this stuff– something like 9 or 10 a week, week after week, for months and months, maybe you can find some passages in your book that are relevant.
Start with the ones beginning “Scribes. Pharisees. Hypocrites.” I would then suggest you move on to the ones where someone who ought to know tells other people who clearly don’t that it might be better to mind your own business and the welfare of your own soul instead of worrying about those of other people.

I’ve read the verses you refer to often over my 45+ years, studying the false claims of those who want to read into the word the OK to be gay, (and other sins) just as I’ve researched the error’s of those hoping they can hold on to Christ and reach the world by saying it’s ok, often based on the idea that this is a new age and that was an old one. All of that wont “fly†at the judgment. Remember the facts as stated .one faith, one hope, one baptism,…without them your lost. You want to add to and take away from to make homosexuals ok but don’t read the whole bible and take the word as the law that it is. Do you not note the clear examples that all relationsships from start to end are one male and one female in marriage. All others are condmened.

Consider this, the same claims those “homosexuals†and pro supporters has been used to support many crimes in the name of god and man. That includes the child molesters murderer’s, rapists…all can now use these claims to make there own feelings “lawâ€.
I don’t need someone’s idea of Christianity or God, I have 13 versions of the bible on every computer I own and study it daily.

Please provide three examples of Biblican heros whose relationsips consisted of one male and one female in marriage in the way that we understand marriage to be. If they all were this way, surely it won’t be difficult to come up with three Biblical heroes whose relationships we should emulate.

I’d say Alan Hamby has already “won,” he’s come to this gay site and preached his “gospel.” I suggest that now that his points are “proven,” he need only leave us alone to “find” our “lost souls.” Any other reason to remain on this gay website would be a mystery to me, unless he wants to spend more time around gays and gay-supportive people.

FYI: I found this website looking for info on the subject for my study and posted a different opinion than the common user of the site. Beleave what you will but rest assured that in the judgement you will be called on to answer for your sin. That will include the point that the truth of God’s word was posted for you and you didnt go study it yourself to find out if mankind was wrong. Which mankind has shown a history of doing so for thousands of years.

This info if available in your own bible and all over the net if you will just stop and look and I’m sure that if I did post it, which would be rather large going from old to new testament it would require a number of post’s. A helpful idea for you, start with Adam and Eve and read what is said about them. This also shows how mankind has modernized the concept of the “husband is head of house†into once she say’s “I DO†she belongs to me. That’s another example of how wrong things get when mankind decides to claim it’s ok to change the word of God.

No, I have “won” nothing. There is nothing for me to win. I do feel I need to tell the truth and speak out against this idea that “sin” is ok because we want it to be. History is full of such false claims and also, in this case believers are commanded to speak out. For a long time we (Christians) have sat silent and let these false claims grow in fear for the very reaction we have read here today. I’m not here to win, I have nothing to win. God commands I speak his word and this is what I am doing. Read the New Testament and you would know this is truth, if one person read’s this and start’s to read a bible to find out the truth then God wins a soul. I win nothing.

Study…in my case it is to study a lot and if you do so you will find out how and why some wrongly claim, as is done here that the verse’s quoted above don’t actually mean what they want it to say. If you read them in context the Bible condemns same sex relationships. It shows the effort to learn, much as anyone who wants to learn mechanics would study many types of work skills. So, how many bibles do you own and how often do you study them yourself to learn what they do and don’t say? Regarding the reference to “sanctimoniousâ€.

Alan provided one example for marriage: Adam and Eve.
According to the Genesis story, Eve was created by God from Adam’s flesh. She was, if you will, cloned and contained the same genetic code.
Adam and Eve lived outside the sanction of a sacrament or the recognition of a civil government. They were absent even the concept of vows of exclusivity – when there’s only one other human, how can one break such a vow.
And, of course, in the Genesis story Adam and Eve raised their children (that is, those who were neither murderer nor victim) to engage in incest with each other.
This is the model that Alan presented for us to emulate.

Have you ever noticed that so many who claim to “study” the Bible actually don’t mean “study” at all. What they mean is read it in English and look for confirmation of their own preconceptions and bias.

Alan Hamby you’re deluded. There is no god, when you die that’ll be it, there will be no heaven and no hell and there is no such thing as a soul. I understand that your fantasy that you’ll live eternally in joy while those you hate are tortured eternally gives you a cheap thrill, but that won’t change the reality that your life is finite and your hopeful threats are empty and of no concern to me.
