Does anyone think things like this will ever end? These people seem to step up their activities with every advance we make. It seems we scare them into acting more, and more openly.

I am, however optimistic of eventual succses.(Think civil rights)

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command - to quote the Jesus they say they follow(john 15.13-14)

I would like to see one of them take a fist in the face for a gay being beaten up! We christians are known by our actions and the actions of these are not christ-like!

The idea of fundamentalists and Nazis at the same protest is pretty scary and reminiscent of what happens in Russia, where Orthodox Christians picket alongside skinheads.

I was on the subway several weeks ago, and this Jamaican lady start singing out loud: "Me no like lesbian and me no like batty boy" over and over again whenever the train closed the doors after picking up passengers at a station.

Times like these -- when radical social change (the first black president and gay rights advances) conspire with economic difficulty -- create the perfect environment for extremism.

We should be watching our backs.
