A poll in Los Angeles recently found black voters opposed to marriage equality by 54% to 37%.

Clearly this is not the case in New York.  Those working within the African American community in Los Angeles - as well as those planning the upcoming campaign - may find it valuable to consider whether there has been a different approach in New York and whether it could be effective in California.</description>
