I find it really despicable that, when describing his anti-gay activities, he uses terminology that is typically reserved for those who make huge sacrifices for our nation- like members of the armed services. I’m not a big fan of militarism, but I think it does a real disservice to our men and women in uniform when people like Lively misappropriate a phrase like “tour of duty” and apply it to their hate work.

Does that mean Mr. Abrams is Jewish, or that he researches Judaism? Possibly both, but the phrasing is a little odd and makes me think that Abrams’s credentials are just as bogus as Lively’s.

It must be something like a year ago that, having seen some videos of his speeches delivered in former Eastern Bloc countries, I e-mailed him to ask whether he’d never been taught that lying is wrong. He replied accusing me, if I remember correctly, of self-righteousness, and telling me that I had to submit to the Word of God.

I really think that he has managed to convince himself that his campaign is literally an “opus Dei” and that falsehood in aid of his “righteous cause” doesn’t count as lying.
