If it’s to focus on a 2012 campaign then the worst thing she could do is resign during her tenure. People will question whether she can stick out a 4-8 year Presidential term.

If there is a medical issue in her family, well, she isn’t above using them as props, so why wasn’t it mentioned?

I think something ugly is about to surface.

Now, I’ve seen her on the cover of the enquirer and other supermarket tabloids…but that’s hardly something to quit your job over. Did I miss something? I’m being sincere, because I’m just not seeing the endless potshots against her and her family that people say have been happening “daily” since November. I’m fairly sure I’m tapped into the liberal media enough that surely, surely, I’d have see something. But the only stories I recall since the election is the divorce(or just cancelled wedding) of her daughter, and the Letterman snafu.

She’s spent more time on the speaking and talk show circuit since the election than she actually has governing.

And during that process, she figured out (perhaps with the help of some RNC operative) that she can make a lot more money delivering carefully prepared speeches to her “base”, enriching and potentially creating opportunities for herself and fellow wingers.

Individuals like Palin are sock-puppets. To understand all of this will require discovering the identity of the puppet master that operates her mouth and following the money.

For better or worse, she’s a political celebrity. I guess she decided to get an early start on running for 2012.

I think she’s taken a little too much crap since the election. She deserves the criticism (and investigation), but not the cheap shots.

As of now, she’s simply resigning. While that deserves attention, it doesn’t deserve insult. While the other commenters here may be right that her move is an intentional move to sidestep some kind of embarresment, I war otherwise.

What if, God forbid, something tragic is happening? Again, I realize that recent trends in the party point otherwise, but without any information to go on we run the risk of being douches.

How much would it suck if you’re making fun of someone who’s stepping down due to a terminal illness? Or family issues?
