They didn't exactly pull support, but the corporate office has issued a statement which you can read here:

http://www.timhortons.com/us/en/about/2759.html

They say, "It has come to our attention that the Rhode Island event organizer and purpose of the event fall outside of our sponsorship guidelines. As such, Tim Hortons can not provide support at the event." While I'm glad the corporate office was willing to make this statement, vague as it may be, it's still not clear what this means for the local franchise. The owner of the Rhode Island Tim Horton's might still be able to do whatever he/she wants.

If I understand this correctly, it's not the chain that's promoting discrimination, but rather a single franchise--which could be just one store. Since, as the article notes, the corporate office doesn't have a real policy preventing this sort of thing they can always say "It's not our policy, but we can't stop it either".

But this is definitely a good opportunity to vote with cash. Even if you're not anywhere near the Providence, Rhode Island location you can still send a message. Tell the corporate office that until they have a real policy banning such promotional efforts you won't enter any of their stores.

Another chance to vote with cash! Add it to the list of food slingers who discriminate.

How strange that this action comes from a Canadian chain, where marriage for gay couples is legal all over that country.

What if American corporations were allowed to interfere with the political and legal processes of Canada?
Or any country to do that?

It's bad enough the religious imposition on this issue, but another COUNTRY?

Even if they were FOR marriage equality and were funding THAT expansion, you think the religious people here wouldn't squawk and lodge the same complaint I am?
