Jack,

Read the First Amendment again. It states that the *government* cannot infringe upon free speech. There is no evidence of that happening here, therefore it is not a constitutional violation.

Thomas,

You are mistaken. Hate speech most definitely IS protected.

The issue is whether Live Nation wishes to sponsor such speech. Should they choose to package hatred, promote it, advertise it, and send it around the country, then of course we all have the right to view that business as a purveyor of evil.

Jack, may I remind you (or point it out, since you may be ignorant of the facts) that even though the US Constitution has an amendment which specifically states that Congress shall make no law abridging the right of free speech, there are still laws against slander, libel, and speech that encourages violence. Freedom of speech, like all freedoms, should be used responsibly. It's irresponsible use of any freedom that will come back and bite you in the rear.

By the way, no one's preventing Mr. Banton from saying whatever he wants. The question is whether certain venues should pay him and give him a forum for his beliefs that homosexuals should be attacked and murdered.

Nice that you advocate censorship. (Unless its something you find acceptable for people to say, or hear)

May I remind you that the US constitution gives Mr. Banton the same rights of free speech, that you enjoy?

It may come back to bite you in the rear.
