JJQR: How is their (police) conduct even remotely defensible????? Even if one allows the very tenuous interpretation that the “N” statement (oh such a loving word!) does not infer ANY kind of racism, it seems that one type bigotry (against African-Americans) is now “acceptably” replaced by another – this time against gays. Is that what you are arguing?

JJQR: I know Atlanta quite well thank you. This includes how greater Atlanta (i.e. outside the Perimeter) votes. Try as it may, greater Atlanta is overwhelmingly conservative, anti-gay, southern and quite segregated. It is very much a product of both the state and region in which it lies…

JJQR, the fact that there were African Americans involved in the raid does not make the comment misleading. As Chris Rock so eloquently observed, “There’s Black people, and then there’s _ _ _ _ _ _ .”

In other words, there is intragroup racism as well, which means that statement very well could have been said by any police officer — black or white — in the heat of the moment, and in the company of other officers, etc. etc.
