On topic, though, it may be true that Dr. Weber’s web site is either extremely old or a hoax or even both, but I don’t think we should forget that there are people who will not see this as a hoax. His e-mail account may have gone “the way of the dinosaurs”, but such views are, sadly, not completely extinct. Not yet, anyway.

I cannot find any reference to this being a hoax, however I also cannot find anything on the “International Institute for Psychiatric Medical Research” or “Dr Carl Weber” either.

For an organization that’s supposed to have been around since 1934, you’d think they’d be referenced by someone, somewhere.

The website lists no street address, no telephone number and no background info on the “doctor.” The idea that he would be promoting a therapeutic approach based on “treatment” histories from Stalinist Russia, Nazi Germany, and Japanese-occupied Manchuria clearly marks this as a parody. Even if there were a doctor who genuinely wanted to promote this kind of approach, he wouldn’t be touting the work of Nazis and other genocidal maniacs to potential patients and their families.

Moreover, assuming this man resides in any Western country, he would be at severe risk of civil and criminal sanctions if he abetted the involuntary transfer of a citizen to another country for a procedure causing injury or death.

Last hint that this is all fake: I can’t find anything on Dr. Carl Weber on the internets.
