James Hartline’s crazed, hate-fuelled screeds attract a healthy flow of mockery and derision on his blog – all of which he thoroughly deserves. The man is, after all, a nutcase. I guess the masochistic desire to fulfull the prophecy of Matthew 5:11 drives him to accept these comments. That is more than can be said for the equally nutty Peter LaBarbera.

If “God was in the mix” for saving Chicago from hosting the Olympics in 2016, you would think that “God” would have just made a guest appearance in Copenhagen and told the entire planet to obey his commandments.

Chicago was just a bad host city. I’m tired of people using it to score political points. It was eliminated in the first round. No prayer was needed, and no message was being sent to Obama or the U.S. except “pick a better city next time” or “look it’s about time we had an Olympics in South America.”

While Mister Former Homosexual Hartline was asking god to banish The Gay from Chicago forever and ever, he should have put in a word or two about the crime and gang violence and poverty and sickness, too. Not that any of those are as important as Getting The Gay out of Chicago, of course.

I’d say the demons he’s trying so hard to banish are still his own.
