Another irony is that President Obama was in Louisiana and he’s the product of an interracial couple!

So much for “the children will suffer” according to Judge Bardwell.

Keith Bardwell, justice of the peace in Tangipahoa Parish, says it is his experience that most interracial marriages do not last long.

Bardwell told the Daily Star of Hammond that he was not a racist

“My main concern is for the children.”

“I don’t do interracial marriages because I don’t want to put children in a situation they didn’t bring on themselves,” Bardwell said. “In my heart, I feel the children will later suffer.”

“I try to treat everyone equally,” he said.

Just change the words – you know the ones – and you could hear these exact same statements from NOM or any other anti-gay marriage group.

Even though it’s none of the judge’s business, what if this couple didn’t plan to have children? Would he still deny them the right to marry? I find it pretty appalling that he would deny them the right simply because he “says it is his experience that most interracial marriages do not last long”.

Approximately fifty-percent of marriages end in divorce. According to Bardwell’s logic no one should get married then.

of course he has a right to be concerned about the children. as everyone knows, there are negative consequences of being a product of interacial parents, like becoming president of the unites states.

This is funny. Take a look at the amount of outraged people in the Yahoo boards It never ceases to amaze me how people react to situations like this and they actually do not see the hypocrisy of their words
