My only concern is that the cause of people who want to flash their naked asses in public not be included in the same category as the people who want equality under the law. Their cause is probably a good one, but it’s much less important than ours, and I always worry about how theirs affects ours.

Emily, I don’t think you’re a puritan, but I also don’t think I can fairly be on either side without actually seeing the video. How much really was exposed? If my neighbor’s sunbathing in a thong I may not want to see it, but if they’re on their property and still technically clothed I don’t think I can do anything about it–besides not look. And how easy was it to see the contest from across the street? Don’t people usually have to pay to get into these events, which would mean they wouldn’t want to put on a free show?

Seriously though it’s kind of hard to gauge how bad it was just on hearsay.

At least it’s for a great cause. I volunteered at a Shriner’s Hospital for a few years.
