Ben, the ammendments prevent same-sex couples from getting married, they were introduced for the sole purpose of preventing same sex couples from getting married – they are a same-sex marriage ban no ifs ands buts or maybes.

Ben, why exactly is it that “two men or two women cannot constitute a marriage”? Is it because your definition of “marriage” means that it’s solely between a man and a woman? If that’s the case, fine. No one can or will force you to marry someone of the same sex. But why deny two people who care about each other and are willing to make that commitment the right to do so even if they happen to be of the same sex?

There is no same-sex “marriage ban” in Oregon or any other state. It’s not that same-sex marries are “bann ed” from doing anything, it’s that two men or two women cannot constitute a marriage, regardless of what a lot of arrogant judges have to say.
